Stafcure CV 500 Tablet contains two active components:

• Cefuroxime (500 mg): This ingredient belongs to the cephalosporin class of antibiotics. It works by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell walls. By binding to enzymes called penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), it weakens the cell wall of the bacteria eventually leading to their death.

• Clavulanic Acid (125 mg): As a beta-lactamase inhibitor, clavulanic acid prevents the degradation of cefuroxime by certain bacteria which produce beta-lactamase enzymes that can break down antibiotics like cefuroxime. This ensures that cefuroxime remains effective against these otherwise resistant bacterial strains.
