Rosuvastatin blocks an enzyme in the liver needed to make cholesterol, lowering LDL cholesterol, while fenofibrate primarily lowers triglycerides and raises protective HDL cholesterol, together giving broader control of blood fat levels.
Take this tablet daily, with or without food, at the same time each day as your doctor prescribes, and continue even if your cholesterol levels improve.
Tell your doctor if you notice unexplained muscle pain, tenderness or weakness, as the combination of a statin and a fibrate increases the risk of a serious muscle problem needing urgent review. This medicine is not suitable in pregnancy, and your doctor may check your liver function periodically during treatment.
