Reclide 40 Tablet is used to manage type 2 diabetes in adults, keeping blood sugar within a healthy range and helping lower the long-term risk of eye, nerve, kidney and heart problems.

It contains gliclazide, a sulfonylurea. It works by helping the pancreas release more insulin.

Take it with or just before a meal as prescribed, and do not skip meals, as this can cause low blood sugar. Carry a fast-acting sugar source.

Uses of Reclide 40 Tablet are:

Type 2 Diabetes: Helps control blood sugar by increasing insulin release.
Add-On Therapy: Can be combined with other diabetes medicines.

Stimulates Insulin Secretion: Gliclazide stimulates the production of insulin from β-cells in the pancreas. These β-cells are located in clusters called the islets of Langerhans.
Regulates Potassium Channels: Gliclazide acts by binding to specific receptors on β-cell membranes. This binding action causes ATP-dependent potassium channels to close, which leads to depolarisation.
Triggers Calcium Influx: The depolarisation caused by gliclazide leads to an opening of calcium channels. The rushing in of calcium ions triggers the release of pre-formed insulin granules.

Pregnancy

Reclide 40 Tablet is contraindicated during pregnancy. If you are pregnant or planning to conceive, ensure to discuss this with your doctor before starting this medicine.

Breastfeeding

Alcohol
