Progynova 2 mg Tablet is used to treat symptoms of low oestrogen levels in women, particularly during and after menopause. It helps manage hot flushes, night sweats and mood changes, and supports overall hormone balance in the body.
It contains estradiol valerate, a form of oestrogen used in hormone replacement therapy. Take the tablet whole with a glass of water, with or without food, as prescribed by your doctor. Continue taking it for as long as advised, as regular use helps maintain steady hormone levels over time.
This medicine is also used to reduce the risk of osteoporosis (bone thinning) in postmenopausal women. Regular weight-bearing exercise, adequate calcium and vitamin D intake, and avoiding smoking support bone health alongside this medicine. Limiting alcohol intake is also advised.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about your full medical history, including any history of breast cancer, abnormal vaginal bleeding, oestrogen-dependent tumours, severe liver or kidney disease, blood clotting disorders, or heart-related conditions. It should not be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
