CompositionReclide Tablet is used in managing type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults. It contains gliclazide, a sulphonylurea, and plays a role in reducing the risk of complications such as kidney damage when blood sugar is well controlled.
Gliclazide works by stimulating the pancreas to release insulin in response to meals, which helps lower blood sugar, especially when diet, exercise and lifestyle changes alone are insufficient to control it.
Take this tablet with meals as your doctor prescribes, and try to have meals at consistent times, since skipping food after a dose raises the risk of low blood sugar.
Tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver disease, and mention any planned surgery or use of contrast dye for imaging. Watch for signs of hypoglycaemia, such as sweating, shakiness or hunger, and always carry a fast-acting source of sugar.
