CompositionPrasunol 10 Tablet is a medicine used to help prevent blood clots in people with heart disease. It is commonly used after a heart attack or unstable angina, or after a procedure to open the heart's arteries such as stenting, to reduce the risk of further clot-related events.
It contains prasugrel, part of a group of medicines called antiplatelets, which reduce the tendency of platelets to stick together and form clots. This helps keep blood flowing and lowers the risk of further heart attacks or clots forming in a stent. Take it as directed by your doctor, and continue for the full duration prescribed.
Heart-healthy habits support treatment alongside this medicine. These include eating a balanced diet low in saturated fat, staying active as advised, quitting smoking, and keeping to a healthy weight.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about any bleeding problems, a history of stroke or transient ischaemic attack (TIA), liver problems, or other medicines you take, since prasugrel is not suitable for people with a history of stroke or TIA. Because it makes bleeding more likely, tell your doctor or dentist that you take it before any surgery or dental work, and report any unusual or prolonged bleeding.
