CompositionPrax 10 Tablet is used in adults to prevent harmful blood clots, especially after a heart attack, unstable angina or placement of a stent in the heart arteries. It is a single-ingredient antiplatelet medicine containing prasugrel.
It helps keep blood flowing smoothly and lowers the risk of a repeat heart attack or stroke. Take it with or without food in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor, usually along with low-dose aspirin. Do not stop it without your doctor's advice, as stopping suddenly increases the risk of a clot or heart attack.
A low-fat diet, regular physical activity, control of blood pressure and cholesterol, and quitting smoking support long-term heart health. Take care to avoid cuts and injuries while on this medicine.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have ever had a stroke or mini-stroke (TIA), or have bleeding disorders, stomach ulcers or liver disease, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Tell your doctor or dentist that you take this medicine before any surgery or dental work. Report unusual bruising, nosebleeds, black stools or blood in the urine straight away. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
