It contains prasugrel, an antiplatelet medicine that stops blood cells called platelets from clumping together to form clots. This lowers the risk of heart attack and stroke. Take it exactly as prescribed, with or without food, often together with low-dose aspirin. Do not stop it without speaking to your doctor, as this can raise the risk of a clot.

Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have a bleeding disorder, stomach ulcers, or liver problems, or if you have had a stroke or have surgery planned. Report any unusual or prolonged bleeding, black stools, or blood in the urine without delay.
