Pramipex 0.125 Tablet is used to manage Parkinson's disease, easing tremor, stiffness and slowness of movement, and to relieve the uncomfortable urge to move the legs in restless legs syndrome.
It contains pramipexole, a dopamine agonist. It works by acting like dopamine, a brain chemical that is in short supply in these conditions.
Treatment starts at this low dose and is increased gradually. Do not stop it suddenly, as this can cause a serious withdrawal reaction. It can cause sudden daytime sleep, so take care with driving.
This medicine can rarely cause strong urges such as excessive gambling, shopping, eating or sexual urges, so tell your doctor and family if these develop. Report sudden excessive daytime sleepiness. Tell your doctor about any kidney or heart problems before use.
