PIOLON 7.5 TABLET 10 is used for the following:

• Used as monotherapy or in combination to manage type 2 diabetes and improve glycaemic control

• Enhancing insulin sensitivity in the body

• Reducing excess sugar production by the liver

• Supporting diabetes management with lifestyle changes

• Complementing other diabetes medicines when needed

• Helping maintain long-term blood sugar stability

Follow these instructions while taking PIOLON 7.5 TABLET 10:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush, break, or chew the tablet.

• Take this medicine at the same time each day.

• You may take it with or without food.

PIOLON 7.5 TABLET 10 is taken orally.

PIOLON 7.5 TABLET 10 contains pioglitazone (7.5 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• Insulin sensitivity enhancement: Pioglitazone activates special receptors called peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-gamma (PPAR-gamma) in your fat, muscle, and liver cells. This makes these cells more responsive to insulin, allowing them to use glucose more effectively.

• Reduced liver glucose production: This medicine decreases the amount of sugar your liver releases into your bloodstream, which helps maintain better blood glucose levels throughout the day.

• No insulin secretion stimulation: Unlike some diabetes medicines, pioglitazone does not cause your pancreas to release more insulin. This reduces the risk of hypoglycaemia (abnormally low blood sugar) when used alone.

• Store PIOLON 7.5 TABLET 10 at room temperature below 25°C in a cool, dry place.

• Keep away from direct sunlight and moisture.

• Store it in the original packaging until you are ready to use it.

• Keep out of reach of children.

• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the package.

• Follow a balanced diabetic diet low in simple sugars and refined carbohydrates to help maintain stable blood glucose levels alongside your medication.

• Engage in regular physical activity (like 30-minute daily walks), as exercise enhances insulin sensitivity and improves the effectiveness of pioglitazone in controlling your blood sugar.
