Pioz-7.5 Tablet consists of pioglitazone (7.5 mg), which works as follows:

• Activates PPAR-γ: Pioglitazone activates a specific type of nuclear receptor called peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPAR-γ). This receptor helps regulate genes involved in glucose and lipid metabolism - crucial processes that manage the levels of fats and sugar in your body.

• Reduces Insulin Resistance: By activating PPAR-γ receptors, Pioglitazone enhances your body's sensitivity to insulin. This means it helps your body better respond to insulin - a hormone that controls your blood sugar levels.

• Facilitates Glucose Utilisation: An increase in insulin sensitivity allows muscle and adipose tissues (fat storage tissues) in your body to take up and utilise glucose more effectively. This helps lower blood sugar levels.

• Reduces Hepatic Glucose Production: Pioglitazone also slows down the production of glucose in your liver, preventing a surge in blood sugar levels.
