CompositionOxetol 450 Tablet is used to control and prevent partial-onset seizures in adults and children aged 6 and over with epilepsy, on its own or alongside other antiepileptic medicines.
It contains oxcarbazepine, an anticonvulsant. It works by steadying overactive electrical signals in the brain, which helps prevent seizures.
Take it as prescribed, and do not stop it suddenly, as this can trigger seizures. Your doctor may check your blood sodium and blood counts.
Tell your doctor about any low sodium or kidney problems, and if you use hormonal contraception, as this medicine can make it less effective. Report a skin rash straight away, or headache, confusion or muscle weakness, which can signal low sodium.
