Opox-CV 200 Tablet is used to treat bacterial infections including pneumonia, sinus infections and certain urinary tract infections, particularly when the infection may be resistant to simpler antibiotics.
This tablet contains cefpodoxime, a cephalosporin antibiotic, combined with clavulanic acid, which helps prevent bacteria from breaking down the antibiotic, making it more effective. Take it with food as prescribed by your doctor to improve absorption and reduce stomach upset. Complete the full course, usually 5 to 14 days, even if you feel better after a couple of days, as stopping early can allow the infection to return.
Staying well hydrated, eating light, easily digestible meals, and getting adequate rest can support your recovery while on this antibiotic.
Tell your doctor if you are allergic to penicillin, as you may also be allergic to this medicine. Report any skin rash, breathlessness, or severe loose motions promptly, as these may need medical attention.
