CompositionNucort-M4 Tablet is used to reduce severe inflammation in conditions such as acute allergic reactions, severe skin flare-ups, asthma and arthritis. It is a single-ingredient corticosteroid medicine containing methylprednisolone 4 mg.
This medicine helps calm an overactive immune and inflammatory response. Take it with food, usually in the morning unless your doctor advises otherwise, in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor. If you have taken it for more than a few days, do not stop it suddenly; your doctor will give you a plan to reduce the dose gradually.
Long-term steroid use can weaken bones and raise blood sugar, so eat a diet rich in calcium and vitamin D, limit salt and added sugar, and do regular weight-bearing exercise as advised. Avoid close contact with people who have chickenpox or measles, as this medicine can lower your resistance to infection.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have an infection, diabetes, high blood pressure or a stomach ulcer, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Consult your doctor if you are exposed to chickenpox or measles. Report fever, sore throat or severe stomach pain promptly. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
