Novastat-ASP 10 Capsule is used for the following:

• Reducing the risk of heart attack

• Prevention of stroke

• Managing angina, a type of chest pain caused by reduced blood flow to the heart

• Secondary prevention of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events, these are events affecting the heart and brain due to blood clots or bleeding.

• Protecting against aspirin-associated gastric ulcers in patients who require aspirin for other health conditions

Here are some guidelines on how to take Novastat-ASP 10 Capsule:

• Swallow the capsule whole with plenty of water.

• Do not chew, crush, split or dissolve the capsule.

• It is best to take this medicine at least 60 minutes before a meal.

• Always follow your doctor's advice about when and how to take this medicine.

Novastat-ASP 10 Capsule is taken orally.

Novastat-ASP 10 Capsule contains two active ingredients, each playing a different role:

• Aspirin (75 mg): This component irreversibly inhibits enzymes called cyclooxygenase (COX), reducing the production of substances called prostaglandins and thromboxane A2. These substances play a key role in causing blood cells called platelets to clump together, forming blood clots. By decreasing their production, aspirin helps prevent clot formation, thus reducing the risk of heart attacks and strokes.

• Rosuvastatin (10 mg): This ingredient is a selective and competitive inhibitor of an enzyme called HMG-CoA reductase, which is crucial in the production of cholesterol in our body. By inhibiting this enzyme, rosuvastatin effectively reduces the levels of harmful 'bad' cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood, while increasing the levels of 'good' cholesterol. This helps prevent the build-up of fatty deposits in your arteries, reducing your risk of heart disease.

• Store Novastat-ASP 10 Capsule at room temperature, ideally below 30°C.

• Keep it away from excessive light and moisture.

• Do not store it in your bathroom or near a sink.
