• Fexofenadine + Montelukast can be taken orally (tablet and suspension).

Age And Dose Restrictions 

• This combination can be used in adults and children above 2 years.

Contraindications 

• It is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to fexofenadine or montelukast.

Medications To Avoid With This Drug

• Avoid taking cholesterol-lowering medications (gemfibrozil), anticonvulsants (phenobarbital), antibiotics (rifampin and erythromycin), antifungals (ketoconazole), and antacids containing aluminium and magnesium hydroxide. These medications may alter the safety and effectiveness of this combination.

Overdose And Missed Dose

• Taking more than the prescribed dose may cause dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, abdominal pain, headache, and vomiting. Seek immediate medical attention if an overdose is suspected.
• If you miss a dose of this combination, take it as soon as you remember. If it is nearly time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not take two doses at the same time to make up for the missed one.

Management Of Side Effects

• T​​ake this combination with food to reduce gastrointestinal side effects and continue taking it as prescribed. If side effects worsen or persist, consult your doctor for a possible treatment plan adjustment.

Use In Pregnancy And Lactation

• Caution is advised in pregnant and breastfeeding women.

Caution In Other Conditions

• Caution is advised in patients with phenylketonuria (a rare genetic disorder that affects the metabolism of amino acids) and kidney impairment.

• Avoid having grapefruit juice with this combination.
• Identify and avoid specific allergens that trigger your allergic rhinitis symptoms. Common triggers include pollen, dust mites, pet dander, mold, and food allergens.
• Take steps to minimise exposure to these allergens, such as keeping windows closed during high pollen seasons or using dust mite-proof covers for bedding.
• Wear a face mask before leaving the home, while dusting and even in the kitchen.
• Minimise alcohol consumption, as it may exacerbate specific side effects associated with these medications, such as drowsiness.
