How Fexofenadine + Montelukast works

Fexofenadine + Montelukast works through two mechanisms to relieve allergy and asthma symptoms.

Fexofenadine is a non-sedating antihistamine. It blocks histamine H1 receptors in the body, preventing histamine, a chemical released during allergic reactions, from causing symptoms such as sneezing, itching, and a runny nose.

Montelukast is a leukotriene receptor antagonist. It blocks leukotrienes, chemicals that cause airway inflammation, narrowing, and mucus production during allergic and asthmatic responses.

Together, Fexofenadine relieves the immediate symptoms of allergies, while Montelukast reduces airway inflammation, making this combination useful for allergic conditions that also affect breathing.
