Miofree A 4 Tablet is used for short-term relief of painful muscle spasm with pain and inflammation, such as in acute low back pain, neck stiffness and muscle injuries. It is a combination medicine containing aceclofenac 100mg, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicine (NSAID), and thiocolchicoside 4mg, a muscle relaxant.
Aceclofenac reduces pain and inflammation, while thiocolchicoside eases muscle spasm, helping restore movement. It is used for the shortest time needed, usually no more than 7 days, because of the risks of thiocolchicoside. Take it after food, swallowed whole, as prescribed.
Gentle movement as pain allows, correct posture, warm compresses and physiotherapy exercises advised by your doctor help recovery. Avoid prolonged bed rest.
Thiocolchicoside can harm an unborn baby and may affect sperm, so do not take this medicine if you are pregnant, could become pregnant without effective contraception, or are breastfeeding. It is not for people under 16. It can rarely trigger seizures, so tell your doctor if you have epilepsy. Before starting, tell your doctor if you have had stomach ulcers or bleeding, heart disease or stroke, high blood pressure, asthma, or liver or kidney disease, and about other medicines you take, including blood thinners. It can cause drowsiness, so take care when driving. Seek medical help for black stools, vomiting of blood, chest pain or a fit. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
