Mahacef Oral Drops is used to treat bacterial infections in infants and children. It contains an antibiotic from the cephalosporin class and helps clear infections such as bronchitis, pneumonia, tonsillitis, pharyngitis, and ear, sinus and urinary tract infections.
It works against a wide range of bacteria and is also used for uncomplicated gonorrhoea in certain cases. Give the drops to your child as prescribed by the doctor, using the dropper provided, with or without food. Complete the full course even if your child starts feeling better, to prevent the infection from returning.
Encourage your child to drink plenty of fluids during treatment, and maintain good hygiene, including regular handwashing, to support recovery and reduce the spread of infection to others.
Before starting this medicine, tell the doctor if your child has any kidney problems, allergies to antibiotics, or is taking any other medicines. Contact the doctor promptly if your child develops loose motions, a skin rash, or any signs of an allergic reaction.
