Taxim-O Drops is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections in infants and young children, including infections of the respiratory system, middle ear, sinuses, throat and tonsils, as well as typhoid fever.
It contains cefixime, a cephalosporin antibiotic that stops the growth of susceptible bacteria. Measure the prescribed dose carefully using the calibrated dropper supplied with the pack, and give it as advised by your child's doctor, with or without food.
Completing the entire course as directed is essential, even if your infant's fever subsides or symptoms improve, to help prevent the infection from returning or bacteria becoming resistant.
Tell your child's doctor about any history of medicine allergies or kidney problems before starting these drops. Consult your doctor if your child experiences severe or persistent diarrhoea during treatment.
