Losatan H Tablet 10

• Losatan H Tablet is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and reduce the risk of stroke and heart problems. It combines losartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker, and hydrochlorothiazide, a diuretic, to relax blood vessels and eliminate excess fluid. This dual action lowers blood pressure effectively, helping prevent long-term damage to the heart, brain, and kidneys.
• Reduction of stroke risk in hypertensive patients with left ventricular hypertrophy: Losatan H Tablet also lowers the risk of stroke, specifically in patients with hypertension and left ventricular hypertrophy. Left ventricular hypertrophy refers to the thickening of the muscle of heart, which can increase the risk of cardiovascular events, including stroke. Losartan H Tablet helps manage this risk and improve heart health.

• Swallow the Losatan H Tablet whole with a glass of water.
• Do not crush or chew the tablet, as this may affect the way the medication is absorbed in the body.
• Take this tablet at fixed times each day to maintain a consistent level of medication. 
• Do not change your Losatan H Tablet dose or take them more often than prescribed.

Losatan H Tablets are taken orally.

Losartan, an active ingredient in Losatan H Tablet, is an angiotensin II receptor blocker. It selectively blocks the binding of angiotensin II to its receptors that helps relax and widen the blood vessels, reducing peripheral resistance and blood pressure.

Hydrochlorothiazide, another active ingredient in Losatan H Tablet, is a thiazide diuretic that increases the excretion of sodium and water from the body through the kidneys. It promotes urine production and helps reduce fluid retention, ultimately leading to a decrease in blood volume and a subsequent lowering of blood pressure.

• Store this medicine at a temperature below 30 ºC.
• Protect it from light and moisture.
• Keep Losatan H Tablet away from children.
• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date has passed.

• Follow a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. 
• Limit the intake of sodium (salt) to less than 5 gm a day to reduce fluid retention and control blood pressure. 
• Choose low-sodium alternatives, avoid adding extra salt to meals, and read food labels to identify high-sodium products. Opt for herbs and spices to enhance flavour instead of salt.
• Avoid processed and high-sodium foods.
• Control food portion sizes to prevent excessive calorie intake and weight gain, which can contribute to hypertension. Use smaller plates and practice portion control techniques.
• Limit alcohol intake to moderate levels. For men, this means up to two standard drinks per day, and for women, up to one standard drink per day. Excessive alcohol consumption can raise blood pressure.
• Engage in regular physical activity for at least 30 minutes daily or as your doctor advises. Incorporate aerobic exercises like brisk walking, jogging, cycling, or swimming to improve cardiovascular health and manage weight.
• Lose excess weight to lower blood pressure and reduce the strain in the heart. Try to maintain a healthy body weight and body mass index (BMI). 
• Practice stress-management techniques like deep breathing exercises, meditation, yoga, or engaging in hobbies and activities that promote relaxation. 
• Keep track of your blood pressure regularly and follow up with your doctor for proper monitoring and adjustments to your treatment plan.
