Levipil 500 Tablet is used to control different types of seizure.

Uses of Levipil 500 Tablet are:

• Partial and Myoclonic Seizures: Controls partial-onset seizures and myoclonic seizures that cause quick muscle jerks.
• Generalised Seizures: Helps control primary generalised tonic-clonic seizures that affect the whole brain.

To ensure you get the most benefit from Levipil 500 Tablet, follow these guidelines:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew it.

• The tablet can be taken with or without food, but try to take it at the same time each day for maximum effectiveness.

• Do not discontinue taking this medicine without consulting your doctor, even if you feel better.

Levipil 500 Tablet is taken orally.

Levipil 500 Tablet contains levetiracetam (500 mg) which works on your body as follows:

• Synaptic Vesicle 2A Protein Ligand Binding: Levetiracetam attaches to specific sites known as SV2A on the surfaces of nerve cells in your brain. These sites are involved in releasing chemicals that allow nerve cells in our brain to communicate with each other.

• Suppression of Abnormal Electrical Activity: By binding to these SV2A sites, levetiracetam effectively suppresses the abnormal electrical activity within these nerve cells. This prevents the spread of electrical signals that trigger seizures, thus helping to manage epilepsy symptoms.

• Store Levipil 500 Tablet at room temperature, ideally between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius.

• Keep the medicine in a dry place, away from direct light and moisture.

• Always keep the tablet out of reach of children.

• Make sure you use the medicine before its expiry date.

• If you're experiencing seizures, try to maintain a regular sleep pattern as sleep deprivation can trigger seizures.

• Adopt a balanced diet. Some research suggests that a ketogenic diet, high in fats and low in carbohydrates, may help manage epilepsy symptoms. However, consult your doctor before making any significant dietary changes.
