Lamitor DT-25 Tablet is used for the following:

• Control of epileptic seizures

• Management of partial onset seizures

• Treatment of primary and secondary tonic-clonic seizures

• Management of seizures in Lennox-Gastaut syndrome

• Maintenance treatment of bipolar I disorder

• Prevention of mood episodes in bipolar disorder

• Delaying occurrence of depression in bipolar patients

• Stabilising extreme mood swings

• Protection of neurons during bipolar illness

Follow these instructions while taking Lamitor DT-25 Tablet:

• Dissolve it in a glass of water. Ensure the tablet is completely dissolved before drinking the mixture.

• Take this medicine with or without food as advised by your doctor.

• Do not suddenly stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor.

• If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember, unless it's nearly time for your next dose.

• Consult your doctor for specific advice about your treatment plan.

Lamitor DT-25 Tablet is taken orally.

Lamitor DT-25 Tablet contains lamotrigine (25 mg), which works in the following ways:

• Stabilisation of Neuronal Membranes: Lamotrigine works by stabilising the membranes of nerve cells in your brain, preventing them from becoming overactive and causing seizures.

• Inhibition of Excitatory Neurotransmitters: It reduces the release of certain brain chemicals called excitatory amino acid neurotransmitters, particularly glutamate, which play a key role in generating and spreading epileptic seizures.

• Neuroprotective Effects: Lamotrigine provides protection to brain cells, helping prevent neuronal damage that can occur during the course of bipolar disorder.

• Modulation of Electrical Activity: It helps regulate abnormal electrical activity in the brain, which controls extreme mood swings associated with bipolar disorder.

• Store Lamitor DT-25 Tablet at room temperature, not exceeding 30°C.

• Keep the medicine protected from light and moisture.

• Store in the original packaging until ready to use.

• Keep out of reach of children and pets.

• Do not use the medicine beyond the expiry date printed on the package.
