Lamitor DT-100 Tablet is used to control seizures in epilepsy and to help prevent severe mood episodes in bipolar disorder. It contains lamotrigine in a dispersible tablet form, and regular use reduces seizure frequency and helps stabilise mood.
Lamotrigine works by steadying abnormal electrical activity in the brain, which reduces seizure frequency, and also helps stabilise mood by regulating certain brain chemical activity linked to mood episodes in bipolar disorder.
Take this tablet at the same time each day, dispersed in water or swallowed whole as your doctor prescribes, and never change your dose without medical advice.
Tell your doctor immediately if you develop a rash, especially in the first eight weeks of treatment, as this can rarely be a sign of a serious reaction needing urgent medical attention. Do not stop this medicine suddenly, as this can trigger seizures or a mood episode.
