Abvida M 50/500 Tablet 15

Abvida-M 50/500 Tablet is used to regulate blood glucose levels in patients with type 2 diabetes.

Uses of Abvida-M 50/500 Tablet are:

• Glycaemic Control: Regulates everyday blood sugar levels effectively.
• Post-Meal Glucose Management: Helps reduce increases in blood sugar after meals.

Follow these instructions while taking Abvida-M 50/500 Tablet:

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water during meals.

• Refrain from crushing or chewing the tablet.

• Do not exceed the recommended dose without consulting your doctor.

• Consult your doctor before you decide to stop taking this medicine.

Abvida-M 50/500 Tablet is taken orally.

Abvida-M 50/500 Tablet contains two active ingredients:

• Vildagliptin (50 mg): This is a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor. It works by boosting the levels of incretin hormones, such as glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP). These hormones stimulate insulin secretion from your pancreas when glucose levels are high and suppress glucagon secretion, thereby reducing blood sugar levels.

• Metformin (500 mg): This component helps manage blood sugar levels by reducing the production of glucose in your liver, decreasing the absorption of glucose in your gut, and enhancing insulin sensitivity which leads to an increase in glucose uptake and utilisation by your body's cells. It does not stimulate insulin secretion, so it doesn't cause low blood sugar or hypoglycemia.

• Store Abvida-M 50/500 Tablet at room temperature, ideally between 15-30°C.

• Keep the medicine in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture.

• Make sure it is stored out of reach of children.

• Remember to use the medication before its expiry date.

• Since Abvida-M 50/500 Tablet is used to manage diabetes, you should aim to maintain a balanced diet. Focus on including whole grains, fruits, and vegetables while limiting your intake of sugary foods and drinks.

• Regular exercise is pivotal for managing blood sugar levels. Try to include at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity activity in your daily routine, such as brisk walking or cycling. Always consult your doctor before starting any new exercise regimen.
