CompositionHuminsulin 30/70 100iu Injection 10ml is used to control blood sugar in adults and children with diabetes who need insulin. It contains human insulin as a premixed combination of 30% short-acting (regular) insulin and 70% intermediate-acting (isophane) insulin, at a strength of 100 IU per ml.
The short-acting part covers the rise in blood sugar after a meal, while the intermediate-acting part provides background control. It is usually injected under the skin, about 30 minutes before breakfast and the evening meal. Roll the vial gently between your hands to mix it until evenly cloudy, use a U-100 insulin syringe, and rotate injection sites. Never inject it into a vein.
Eating regular meals, checking blood sugar as advised, staying active and learning to recognise low blood sugar are important. Store unopened vials in the fridge, never freeze them, and do not use insulin that looks clumped or discoloured.
Low blood sugar is the most important risk, especially if you miss a meal, exercise more or drink alcohol; treat shaking, sweating, confusion or a fast heartbeat straight away with glucose or sugar, and carry some with you. Do not change your dose or stop insulin without medical advice, as blood sugar can rise dangerously. Tell your doctor about kidney, liver or thyroid problems, illness or infection, and all other medicines you take, especially beta blockers, pioglitazone and steroids. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, as insulin needs change. Seek urgent help for severe low blood sugar, confusion, loss of consciousness, or signs of a serious allergic reaction.
