Lupisulin R 100 IU Cartridge is a short-acting insulin used to treat diabetes mellitus in both type 1 and type 2 diabetes. It helps manage blood sugar levels after meals, alongside a healthy diet and regular exercise, and supports the prevention of long-term complications such as kidney damage and vision loss. It contains human insulin/soluble insulin.
It is usually used together with a long-acting insulin or another diabetes medicine, as part of a complete treatment plan. Your doctor or nurse will show you how to inject it correctly under the skin. It should be given 20 to 30 minutes before eating, using the cartridge with the appropriate insulin pen device.
Eating balanced meals at regular times, taking regular exercise, and maintaining a healthy weight, as directed by your doctor, all support better blood sugar control alongside this medicine.
Do not stop or change your insulin dose without your doctor's advice, as this can cause your blood sugar to rise sharply. Carry a sugary snack with you at all times in case of sudden low blood sugar. Tell your doctor about any other health conditions or medicines before starting.
