Glipon Tablet is a medicine used to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults. Alongside a healthy diet and regular exercise, it helps control blood sugar levels and improve long-term glycaemic control.
It contains Teneligliptin, a dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor. It works by slowing the breakdown of incretin hormones, which increases glucose-dependent insulin release and reduces glucagon secretion, helping lower blood sugar levels after meals. It can be used alone or in combination with other oral antidiabetic agents such as Metformin.
A balanced diet, regular physical activity, and maintaining a healthy weight can help support better blood sugar control alongside this medicine.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor about any liver or kidney problems, or other medicines you are taking. It is not indicated for treating type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis, and should be used with caution in people with a history of heart problems.
