Glipon Tablet is used for the following:

• Improving blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

• Acting as a supportive measure alongside diet and exercise for better management of type 2 diabetes.

• Working in combination with other oral antidiabetic agents such as Metformin to enhance glycemic control in type 2 diabetes patients.

Here are the instructions to follow while taking Glipon Tablet:

• The tablet should be swallowed whole using a glass of water.

• Avoid crushing or chewing the tablet.

• Never exceed the recommended dose without consulting your doctor.

• If you wish to discontinue the medicine, always consult your doctor first.

Glipon Tablet is taken orally.

Glipon Tablet contains Teneligliptin (20 mg) which functions in the following ways:

• Slows Inactivation of Incretin Hormones: Teneligliptin hinders the breakdown of incretin hormones like GLP-1 and GIP. These hormones are responsible for increasing insulin production when blood sugar levels are high or normal.

• Enhances Insulin Production: By slowing the inactivation of incretin hormones, Teneligliptin indirectly helps boost the synthesis and release of insulin from pancreatic beta cells. Insulin is key in reducing blood glucose levels.

• Reduces Glucagon Secretion: Another effect of increased incretin hormone action is the reduced secretion of glucagon from pancreatic alpha cells. This leads to less glucose production from the liver, thereby lowering blood glucose levels overall.

• Store Glipon Tablet in a dry place, away from excessive light.

• Maintain a cool storage temperature ideally below 25°C.

• Keep the medicine well out of the reach and sight of children.
