Formoflo 250 Transcaps is used for the long-term control and prevention of symptoms in asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It is an inhaled combination medicine containing fluticasone propionate (a corticosteroid) and formoterol (a long-acting bronchodilator).
It helps prevent wheezing, chest tightness and breathlessness, and reduces flare-ups. Use it through the inhaler device in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor. The capsules are for inhalation only and should not be swallowed. It is a maintenance medicine and should not be used for a sudden breathing attack.
Rinse your mouth with water and spit it out after each use to help prevent mouth thrush and throat irritation. Avoid triggers such as smoke, dust, pollen and cold air.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have high blood pressure, heart rhythm problems, diabetes, thyroid problems or an active infection, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Seek medical help if breathing becomes suddenly difficult right after inhaling, or if you have chest pain. Ask your doctor before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop using the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
