Ovral L Tablet is a combined oral contraceptive used to prevent pregnancy. It also helps manage menstrual irregularities, heavy menstrual bleeding, and period-related pain, and is prescribed for conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and endometriosis in women of reproductive age.
It contains levonorgestrel and ethinylestradiol. Take it daily at the same time each day as directed by your doctor. Missing doses or taking the tablet at irregular times may reduce its contraceptive effectiveness. Do not stop the medicine suddenly without consulting your doctor.
While taking this medicine, attend regular follow-up appointments with your doctor to check your blood pressure. Avoid smoking while taking combined oral contraceptives, as it significantly increases the risk of serious circulatory complications, particularly in women over 35.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have a history of blood clots, migraine with aura, liver disease, uncontrolled high blood pressure, or certain hormone-sensitive conditions. This medicine is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Inform your doctor if you notice any unusual leg pain or swelling, chest pain, or severe headache during treatment.
