Dorzonol Eye Drops 5ml

Dorzonol Eye Drops 5ml are used for the following:

• Treating open-angle glaucoma

• Managing ocular hypertension

• Lowering elevated pressure inside the eye

• Preventing damage to the optic nerve

• Reducing aqueous humour production in the eye

• Preserving vision in glaucoma patients

• Controlling intraocular pressure when other medicines fail

• Wash your hands thoroughly before applying the eye drops.

• Tilt your head back slightly and pull your lower eyelid down to form a pocket.

• Hold the dropper above your eye without touching any part of your eye.

• Look upward before squeezing the bottle to release one drop into each affected eye.

• Close your eyes gently for 1-2 minutes to allow the medicine to be absorbed.

• Wait at least 5 minutes before using any other eye drops.

• Remove contact lenses before application and wait 15 minutes before reinserting them.

Dorzonol Eye Drops 5ml are instiled in the eye.

Dorzonol Eye Drops 5ml contain two active ingredients:

• Dorzolamide (2%): This component works by inhibiting an enzyme called carbonic anhydrase in your eye. This enzyme normally helps produce fluid (aqueous humour) in your eye. By blocking this enzyme, dorzolamide reduces the amount of fluid produced, which helps lower the pressure inside your eye.

• Benzalkonium Chloride (0.02%): This ingredient serves as a preservative in the eye drops. It has antimicrobial properties that prevent bacteria and other microorganisms from growing in the solution. This helps maintain the sterility of the eye drops during use.

Dorzonol Eye Drops 5ml should be stored as instructed below to maintain efficacy:

• Store this medication at temperatures below 30°C.

• Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use.

• Protect from direct sunlight.

• Store in a dry place away from children's reach.

• Dispose of the eye drops one month after opening or by the expiry date, whichever comes first.

• Maintain regular eye check-ups: If you have open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension, schedule regular eye examinations to monitor your intraocular pressure (the pressure inside your eyes).

• Avoid excessive caffeine: High caffeine intake can temporarily increase eye pressure, which may worsen conditions managed by Dorzonol Eye Drops 5ml.
