Divalproex (500 Mg)

Divalrex 500 Tablet is used to control seizures in epilepsy, to help stabilise mood in bipolar disorder, and to help prevent migraine attacks. It contains divalproex sodium, a valproate medicine, which works by calming overactive electrical signals in the brain.

Swallow the tablet whole with food, as prescribed by your doctor; do not crush or chew it, and do not stop it suddenly without medical advice, as this can trigger seizures.

A regular routine with good sleep, a balanced diet and avoiding alcohol supports your treatment alongside this medicine.

Tell your doctor about any liver problems before starting, and about other medicines you take. This medicine can seriously harm an unborn baby and must not be used in pregnancy unless there is no alternative and a pregnancy prevention plan is in place; discuss reliable contraception with your doctor.
