Divalprid Od 500 Tablet 10 is used to control seizures in epilepsy, to stabilise mood in bipolar disorder, and to help prevent migraine attacks, by calming overactive electrical signals in the brain.
It contains divalproex sodium (a valproate), an anticonvulsant and mood stabiliser. It works by steadying overactive electrical activity in the brain.
Swallow the tablet whole with food as prescribed, without crushing or chewing it, and do not stop it suddenly, as this can trigger seizures. Regular blood tests check your liver.
This medicine can seriously harm an unborn baby and must not be used in pregnancy unless there is no alternative, with a pregnancy-prevention plan in place; discuss reliable contraception with your doctor. Report yellowing of the skin or eyes, severe stomach pain, unusual bruising, or new or worsening low mood.
