Divalpro 500 Tablet is used to treat and manage epileptic seizures (fits) and to stabilise mood changes in conditions such as bipolar disorder. It is a single-ingredient anticonvulsant and mood stabiliser containing divalproex sodium.
This medicine is also used to prevent migraine headaches. Take it with or without food, at a regular time, in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor. Swallow it whole; do not crush or chew it. Do not stop it suddenly, as this can trigger severe seizures.
Keep a regular sleep routine, take meals on time and avoid alcohol to support seizure control.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have liver disease, kidney problems or a family history of urea cycle disorders, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. This medicine can cause serious harm to an unborn baby, so women who could become pregnant need reliable contraception. Report severe abdominal pain or yellowing of the skin promptly. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
