This medicine also helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular and kidney complications linked to diabetes. It can be taken with or without food at the same time each day. Good genital hygiene and adequate daily hydration help reduce the risk of infections. Use the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor.

Tell your doctor if you have kidney problems, frequent urinary or genital infections, or a history of severe urinary tract infections before starting this medicine, and about any other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Speak to your doctor before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Tell your doctor promptly about severe stomach pain, vomiting or unusual drowsiness. Report any side effects that persist or become serious. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
