CompositionClop-S Ointment is used to treat thick, scaly and severely inflamed skin conditions such as psoriasis, chronic eczema, dermatitis and lichen planus. It combines a strong corticosteroid with salicylic acid, a keratolytic agent, and reduces redness, itching, plaque formation and thickened skin.
Clobetasol reduces inflammation, redness and itching, while salicylic acid helps loosen and remove thickened, scaly skin, together clearing severe scaling and inflammation more effectively than either alone.
Apply a thin layer to the affected area, usually once or twice daily as your doctor advises, and use only for the recommended period, since this is a potent steroid preparation that can thin the skin with prolonged use.
Avoid using on the face, groin or underarms unless specifically directed, and avoid covering the area with airtight dressings. Tell your doctor if the skin does not improve, or if you notice thinning, stretch marks or unusual changes in the treated area.
