Cetrizine Syrup 30ml contains cetirizine (5 mg) as its active ingredient:

• Selective H1 Receptor Inhibition: Cetirizine works by selectively blocking a type of receptor in the body called histamine H1 receptors. Histamine is a chemical that is released during an allergic reaction and can cause inflammation and itching among other symptoms.
• Suppression of Allergic Symptoms: By inhibiting these receptors, cetirizine effectively suppresses the effects of histamine. This helps reduce inflammation and itching caused by the allergic reaction.
• Reduction in Drowsiness: Unlike some other antihistamines, cetirizine does not readily enter the brain from the blood. This means it is less likely to cause drowsiness—a common side effect of many allergy medications.
