Ceroxitum CV Tablet 6 is used to treat bacterial infections of the lungs, ear, urinary tract, skin and soft tissues. It is a combination medicine containing cefuroxime and clavulanic acid, and belongs to the class of antibiotic medicines.
This medicine works by stopping bacteria from forming their protective cell wall, while clavulanic acid blocks an enzyme some bacteria use to resist the antibiotic, extending its effectiveness. Take this medicine with food, at a fixed time each day, and complete the full course as prescribed by your doctor, even if you feel better before it is finished.
Tell your doctor about any liver problems, and about any other medicines you are taking, before starting this medicine. Limit your alcohol intake while taking this medicine, as it may enhance certain side effects. Report any persistent diarrhoea, indigestion or abdominal pain to your doctor. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
