Cefredrox Cv Duos Pineapple & Peppermint Flavour Dry Syrup 30ml combines two active ingredients:

• Cefpodoxime Proxetil (100 mg): This ingredient is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. It inhibits the synthesis of the peptidoglycan layer of bacterial cell walls. This leads to cell breakdown and death of the bacteria.

• Clavulanic Acid (62.5 mg): This component acts as a beta-lactamase inhibitor. Certain bacteria produce beta-lactamase enzymes, which can inactivate some penicillin and cephalosporin antibiotics. Clavulanic acid attaches itself to these enzymes irreversibly, preventing them from degrading cefpodoxime. This increases the susceptibility of beta-lactamase-producing bacteria to cefpodoxime.
