Pantafol-DSR Capsule is a combination medicine used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and peptic ulcer disease. It helps relieve symptoms of acidity such as heartburn, stomach pain, bloating, and irritation by reducing stomach acid production and promoting easier movement of food in the stomach.
It contains two active ingredients: Pantoprazole (a proton pump inhibitor) and Domperidone (a prokinetic). Pantoprazole works by reducing the amount of acid your stomach produces, while Domperidone increases the movement of the stomach and intestines, allowing food to move more easily through the digestive system.
This medicine should be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor, preferably on an empty stomach in the morning, at least one hour before a meal. Lifestyle modifications like eating smaller portions, avoiding spicy or fatty foods, and not lying down immediately after eating can enhance the effectiveness of the treatment.
Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you have any liver or kidney diseases, heart problems, or bone density issues. It is generally not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless deemed essential by your doctor. Do not stop taking it suddenly without consulting your doctor.
