CompositionFinecef Cv 100/62.5 Mg Tablet Dt 6 is a combination antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections of the respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin and soft tissues, and the ear, nose and throat. It is a combination medicine containing cefpodoxime proxetil, a cephalosporin antibiotic, and clavulanic acid, a beta-lactamase inhibitor, and belongs to a class of medicines called antibiotics.
This medicine works by killing the bacteria causing the infection, while clavulanic acid protects the antibiotic from being broken down by bacteria that make resistant enzymes. Swallow the tablet whole with water and do not crush or chew it. Complete the full course even if you feel better.
Drink plenty of water, rest well and maintain good hygiene while you recover. Do not share this medicine with others and do not use leftover antibiotics for future illnesses.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you are allergic to penicillins or cephalosporins, if you have kidney or liver problems, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. It is meant for adults, and children should use it only on a doctor's advice. Antibiotics work only against bacterial infections, and incomplete or unnecessary use can lead to antibiotic resistance. Seek urgent medical help for severe or bloody diarrhoea, a severe skin rash, swelling of the face or lips, or difficulty breathing.
