Ursolid-300 Tablet is a medicine used to manage primary biliary cholangitis, a long-term liver condition affecting the bile ducts. It is also used to dissolve cholesterol-rich gallstones in people with a working gallbladder, and to help manage liver complications related to bile flow in children with cystic fibrosis.
Ursolid-300 Tablet contains ursodeoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring bile acid. It is usually taken with food, as advised by your doctor. It is generally prescribed as a long-term treatment, and dissolving gallstones can take several months. Continue the medicine for the full duration recommended by your doctor.
A healthy diet and lifestyle support liver health alongside this medicine. This includes eating a balanced diet low in saturated fats, avoiding excessive alcohol, maintaining a healthy weight, and staying well hydrated. Your doctor may recommend regular blood tests to monitor your liver enzymes and ensure the treatment is working.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have any other liver or gallbladder problems, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or are taking other medicines (especially cholesterol-lowering medicines or oral contraceptives, which may affect how it works). Inform your doctor if you develop persistent stomach pain or notice yellowing of the skin or eyes.
