Febutax-40 Tablet is used to manage long-term high uric acid in adults with gout, preventing painful attacks and protecting the joints from the damage caused by uric acid crystals.
It contains febuxostat, a xanthine oxidase inhibitor. It works by reducing the amount of uric acid the body makes.
Take it at the same time each day, with or without food, and keep taking it long term even when you have no symptoms. Drink plenty of water. Your doctor may add a short course of another medicine at first, as attacks can briefly increase when treatment starts.
Tell your doctor about any heart, kidney or liver problems before use. Report a skin rash, chest pain, or yellowing of the skin or eyes, as these can occasionally signal a serious reaction.
