Brinzolast Eye Drops 5ml

Brinzolast Eye Drops are used for the following:

• Lowering high pressure inside the eye

• Reducing the risk of optic nerve damage

• Preventing vision loss related to high eye pressure

• Supporting eye health in patients with glaucoma

Follow these instructions while using Brinzolast Eye Drops:

• Wash your hands thoroughly before handling the eye drops.

• Gently pull down your lower eyelid to create a small pocket.

• Tilt your head back and look upward.

• Put one drop into the pocket of your lower eyelid.

• Close your eyes for 1-2 minutes while pressing gently on the tear duct.

• Avoid touching the dropper tip to any surface, including your eye.

• Wait at least 5 minutes before using any other eye drops.

• Remove contact lenses before application and wait 15 minutes before reinserting them.

Brinzolast Eye Drops are instilled topically.

Brinzolast Eye Drops contain two active ingredients:

• Brinzolamide (10 mg): As a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor, brinzolamide reduces the secretion of aqueous humour in your eye. It works by blocking an enzyme called carbonic anhydrase, which plays a role in fluid production within the eye.

• Brimonidine (2 mg): This component is an alpha-2 adrenergic receptor agonist that works in two ways to reduce eye pressure. It decreases the production of aqueous humour (the clear fluid that fills the front part of the eye) and increases the drainage of this fluid through the uveoscleral pathway (one of the eye's natural drainage systems).

• Store at room temperature below 25°C.

• Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use.

• Discard the bottle 4 weeks after opening, even if the solution remains.

• Protect from direct sunlight and moisture.

• Keep out of reach of children.

• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the packaging.

• High blood pressure can increase pressure inside your eye. Consider reducing salt intake and exercising regularly to help manage your glaucoma alongside your medicine.

• When using computers or mobile devices for long periods, follow the 20-20-20 rule-every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds to reduce eye strain.
