BETAVERT MD 24mg Tablet is used to treat the symptoms of Ménière's disease, including vertigo (dizziness), tinnitus (ringing in the ears) and hearing loss. It contains betahistine, a histamine analogue.
Betahistine is thought to improve blood flow within the inner ear and reduce pressure from excess fluid, which helps ease the vertigo, ringing in the ears and hearing disturbances associated with Ménière's disease.
Take this tablet as your doctor prescribes, generally with food to reduce the chance of stomach upset, and continue treatment for the duration advised.
Tell your doctor if you have a history of stomach ulcers, asthma, or a rare tumour called phaeochromocytoma, as betahistine needs caution in these conditions. Report any persistent or worsening symptoms to your doctor.
