Aztor Ez Tablet is used to lower high cholesterol in adults, including inherited high cholesterol. It is a combination medicine containing atorvastatin (a statin) and ezetimibe (a cholesterol absorption inhibitor).
It lowers harmful LDL cholesterol and triglycerides and raises HDL cholesterol, reducing the risk of heart attack and stroke, especially in people with diabetes or heart disease. Take it with or without food, at the same time each day, in the dose, frequency and duration prescribed by your doctor. Continue it even when you feel well.
Choose a diet low in saturated fat, with less ghee, butter and fried snacks and more vegetables, fruit and dal. Regular exercise, a healthy weight and quitting smoking also help.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have liver or kidney problems, and about all other medicines, supplements or herbal products you take. Do not use it in pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Report unexplained muscle pain, tenderness or weakness, dark urine, or yellowing of the skin or eyes. Follow the prescribed dose, frequency and duration, report persistent or serious side effects, and do not stop the medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
