Atorfit CV 20 Capsule 10 is used to lower cholesterol and prevent blood clots in adults with heart or blood vessel disease, such as after a heart attack, with angina or after a stroke. It is a combination medicine containing atorvastatin 20mg, a statin, and clopidogrel, an antiplatelet.
This medicine is used when a person needs both a cholesterol-lowering medicine and an antiplatelet to reduce the risk of another heart attack or stroke. Take it at the same time, with or without food, as prescribed, and keep taking it even when you feel well. Do not stop it suddenly without speaking to your doctor.
A diet low in saturated fat, regular physical activity as advised, keeping a healthy weight, limiting alcohol and not smoking all support heart health. Take care with sharp objects, as you may bruise or bleed more easily.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have liver or kidney disease, muscle problems, a stomach ulcer or bleeding, or a bleeding disorder, and about other medicines you take, especially blood thinners, painkillers, omeprazole or esomeprazole, and certain antibiotics or antifungals. Do not take it if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Tell any doctor or dentist that you take it before surgery or dental work. Report black stools, vomiting of blood or unusual bruising. Report unexplained muscle pain, tenderness or weakness, especially with fever or dark urine, straight away. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
