CompositionAztolet 20 Tablet 10 is used to lower cholesterol and prevent blood clots in adults with heart or blood vessel disease, such as coronary artery disease or a previous stroke. It is a combination medicine containing atorvastatin 20mg, a statin, and clopidogrel, an antiplatelet.
This medicine lowers LDL (bad) cholesterol and stops blood cells called platelets from clumping, helping to reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke. Take it at the same time, with or without food, and keep taking it even when you feel well. Do not stop it suddenly without medical advice.
Eat a diet low in saturated fat, limit red and processed meat, exercise regularly, stop smoking and limit alcohol to support your heart. Take care with sharp objects, as you may bleed more easily.
Before starting, tell your doctor if you have liver or kidney disease, muscle problems, a stomach ulcer or bleeding, or a bleeding disorder, and about other medicines you take, particularly blood thinners, painkillers and omeprazole or esomeprazole. Do not take it if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Tell your doctor or dentist that you take it before surgery or dental work. Report unusual bruising or bleeding and black stools. Report unexplained muscle pain, tenderness or weakness, especially with fever or dark urine, straight away. Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor advises you to do so.
