Ascodex SF Expectorant is used to treat a productive (wet) cough with chest congestion caused by conditions such as bronchitis, asthma, and COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease).
It combines an expectorant and a bronchodilator, which together help thin mucus in the airways and widen the air passages, making it easier to cough up mucus and breathe more comfortably. Take this medicine by mouth as prescribed, using the measuring cup provided. Continue the course for the full duration advised, even if your cough improves early.
Drinking plenty of fluids and using steam inhalation can help loosen mucus alongside this medicine. Avoiding smoke, dust, and other lung irritants may also help ease your symptoms.
Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have any heart problems, high blood pressure, thyroid disorders, or diabetes, and about all other medicines you are taking, to avoid potential interactions. Tell your doctor if your cough does not improve, or if you develop chest pain or difficulty breathing.
