Amytum CV Tablet is used to treat various bacterial infections affecting the lungs, throat, ears, urinary tract and skin. It is a combination medicine containing cefuroxime, a cephalosporin antibiotic, and clavulanic acid, a beta lactamase inhibitor, both belonging to the antibiotic class.
Cefuroxime works by destroying the bacterial cell wall, while clavulanic acid prevents bacteria from producing enzymes that would otherwise deactivate the antibiotic, making this medicine useful for infections that may resist standard antibiotics. Complete the full course of this medicine as prescribed by your doctor to ensure the infection is completely cleared and to prevent the development of drug-resistant bacteria.
Before starting this medicine, tell your doctor about any allergies to penicillin or cephalosporin antibiotics. Notify your doctor if you notice any side effects during treatment.
