Mesalov 1200 Tablet Pr 10 is used to manage ulcerative colitis.

Uses of Mesalov 1200 Tablet Pr 10 are:

• Ulcerative Colitis Treatment: Reduces intestinal inflammation during active mild-to-moderate ulcerative colitis.
• Remission Maintenance: Helps maintain remission and prevent recurrent symptom flare-ups in ulcerative colitis.
• Symptom Control: Eases rectal bleeding, abdominal pain, and loose motions (diarrhoea) caused by bowel inflammation.

• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.

• Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.

• Take this medicine with food for the best results.

• Continue taking this medicine regularly for the full course prescribed.

Mesalov 1200 Tablet Pr 10 contains mesalazine (1.2 g), which works on the body as follows:

• Local anti-inflammatory action: Mesalazine works directly in the colon where it reduces inflammation of the intestinal lining, providing relief from ulcerative colitis symptoms.

• Prostaglandin inhibition: It blocks the production of prostaglandins, which are substances that promote inflammation in the body, by suppressing an enzyme called cyclooxygenase.

• Leukotriene reduction: The medicine decreases the formation of leukotrienes, which are inflammatory compounds that contribute to the symptoms of ulcerative colitis.

• Targeted release: The tablet is specially designed to release the active ingredient specifically in the colon, where it's most needed, maximising its effectiveness at the site of inflammation.

• Store Mesalov 1200 Tablet Pr 10 at room temperature (below 30°C).

• Keep the medicine protected from moisture and direct sunlight.
