Adalipca 40mg Injection is used for the following:

• Treatment of moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis

• Managing symptoms of ankylosing spondylitis

• Controlling plaque psoriasis skin lesions

• Reducing inflammation in ulcerative colitis

• Managing symptoms of Crohn's disease

• Treating psoriatic arthritis

• Controlling juvenile idiopathic arthritis

• Managing hidradenitis suppurativa

Follow these instructions when using Adalipca 40mg Injection:

• Remove the injection from the refrigerator 30 minutes before use to reach room temperature.

• Check the solution is clear and has no particles before administering.

• Choose an appropriate injection site on your thigh or abdomen, avoiding the area near your navel.

• Clean the injection site with an alcohol swab and let it dry completely.

• Rotate injection sites with each dose to prevent tissue damage.

• Properly dispose of the used syringe in a sharps container.

• Store unused injections in the refrigerator between 2°C and 8°C.

Adalipca 40mg Injection is administered subcutaneously.

Adalipca 40mg Injection contains adalimumab (40 mg), which works on the body as follows:

• TNF-alpha inhibition: Adalimumab specifically targets and blocks a protein called tumour necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha), which is responsible for triggering inflammation in autoimmune conditions.

• Reduced inflammation: By neutralising TNF-alpha, this medicine decreases swelling, pain, redness, and progressive tissue damage in affected areas of the body.

• Joint protection: In conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, adalimumab helps slow disease progression and prevents permanent joint damage by reducing inflammatory processes in the joints.

• Immune system modulation: The medicine works by modifying specific immune system responses without completely suppressing the entire immune system, helping to control overactive immune reactions.

• Tissue healing: By reducing inflammation in affected tissues, adalimumab creates conditions that allow for healing, particularly in conditions such as psoriasis and inflammatory bowel diseases.

• For inflammatory arthritis conditions: Include omega-3 fatty acids in your diet through fish like salmon or flaxseeds, as these may help reduce joint inflammation alongside your adalimumab treatment.

• For psoriasis management: Limit alcohol consumption as it can trigger flare-ups and potentially reduce the effectiveness of your medicine.
